We must stand on the common ground of universal moral principles, promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and building peace. Katie promotes cooperation beyond boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity, and nationality through her work with the Universal Peace Federation founded by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. Katie is an advocate for sustainability, self-reliance, and self-sufficiency, protecting the environment and rebuilding our community with advanced technologies. 

As the mother of two wonderful sons who are products of the Clark County School District, Katie knows what it takes. She understands the critical role of the parent in educating children. Katie is newly blessed in marriage to Rev. David Reed.

And together they maintain a demanding schedule promoting nonviolence and economic development. 

Katie works diligently to promote Eastern medicine to Nevada looking toward advances in acupuncture and alternative traditional medicine to help bring an end to the pain and suffering associated with the opioid and drug crisis facing our State. She serves on the Board of Directors of Wongu University of Oriental Medicine and completed a Bachelors of Arts in Theology in 2023. Katie is a graduate of UNLV, with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Her management degree qualified her to establish the Ward 5 Chamber of Commerce where she spends her time growing businesses that create jobs.  

Having attended Middlebury College, Boston State College and Salamanca de Compostela, Katie speaks moderate Spanish and volunteers to teach English to Spanish speaking children and adults. Katie has been awarded numerous local, State and Congressional recognitions.

Katie practices “living for the sake of others” as the guiding principle for rebuilding our families, our community and the State of Nevada.
